Newbie...Please help with Star N9776 6" JB. Phone screen goes black when calling pls help

Hi All,
I am new to this forum and thought I would ask for some advice about an issue thats driving me mad.
I bought a cheap (all I could afford) jelly bean Chinese Star N9776 phone and on the whole have to report its great for the money.
The only problem is that when I make a call or receive a call the ALS_PS sensor I think turns the screen off and it will not come back on until the call ends.
I have searched for answers and have found that this is a common problem. One thread suggested that if you enter the boot menu with the volume and power key you can sellect an option to disable this feature.
However the menu is in Chinese !!
Please can anyone help me with this or suggest a remedy keeping in mind I am a novice
Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I have an Android tablet (Diablotek D2-721, very cheap I know, but it serves its purpose) that is stuck in a boot loop. The real problem here is that this device apparently does not have any sort of recovery mode and being in a boot loop means it does not get recognized by ADB or any firmware flashing software.

I researched all day yesterday perusing forum after forum but almost every single solution requires booting into recovery. Is anyone able to shed any light and tell me what my options might be at this point?

Thanks in advance.

Samsung Galaxy Note upgrade to Jelly bean and email not pushing

Can anyone advise please? I upgraded to Jellybean from ICS a couple of days ago and now my email will not push. I have no email come into my phone ever since- unless I sync all accounts. They were not synced before and email was pushed in. I do not want to sync the accounts I have as it drains battery and also downloads lots of mail that I do not want from months ago.
Why is my email not working? I do not intend doing a factory reset withg all the work involved in setting up phone again. I have tried deleting all email and adding them again and still not working.
Jelly bean has changed several things. There is no refresh option for email and there is no clear cache option for email either.
is there any way to go back to what I had before? OR- how can I get my email to work?

Hi, My Galaxy S2 has started playing up since trying to install the S Calendar widget onto one screen.

Basically, the screen now comes up but won't let me flick between screens or select access any of the app icons displayed - then after a few seconds the screen turns off/goes completely blank (apart from the status bar), then it will come back on again and I still can't change screens or access the apps. Then the cycle starts all over again.

I can access things from the top drop down bar (e.g .if a Gmail comes in and there's a notification on the top line) - but that's it. Thankfully I can access the settings (as I'm on 4.1.2), but I don't know what to disable/force stop/etc to fix the problem.

(Interestingly when I've pulled down the status bar and access Gmail or Settings, the screen doesn't keep going on and off).

Any ideas? I really don't want to have to reset and lose all my apps, etc.....

Hello,

htc evo 4g

I am having severe issues with my android, the phone shuts off immediatly if it isnt connected to a charging source and then even those fail. It appears that the phone simply shuts off whenever you try to do something or sometimes as soon as it powers on. The back does get a little warm. I have had this phone a little over a year. I cant make calls send text's or even read them.

Do I need a flash? New Battery?

Please forgive me as I am a noob to this new phone tech. I have read some post's and most were filled with numbers and letters grouped together in a fashion that seemed alien to me. LOL

I read that there is some software that may take care of my problem but that individual's phone was restarting mine just shuts off no restart. Then sometimes its hard to restart almost like the phone is still shutting its self off during the start up. I only notice this at the begining of start up not during.

Im too far from my upgrade for this crap and I run a business out of the house I need my phone!!!! Please Help....

There could me some aquarium plants or fishing tackle in it for you if you really get my phone working again.

Thanks in advance,
Alex R.

So I'm at a loss... I tried searching for a similar problem but nothing I found was quite like whats happening to me, if I'm mistaken please redirect me there, thats why I posted.

Motorola Photon 4G (MB855) that is Rooted
Android 2.3.5
Aquired the phone about 1 year ago, been rooted since that time, has not been dropped/wet/etc

I know some of this information is probaby useless but its the best description of the problem I think I can provide without knowing that much about whatevers going on...

Problem:
Application not responding dialogue pops up, most times it has two options (force close, wait), but sometimes it has three (+ report). It comes up at apparently random times, as I don't know what triggers it, nor do I know how to trigger it on purpose. It may happen while I'm using my phone, or while the screen is off, and at any battery level. It may happen when there is perfect phone signal, when WiFi is on, on Airplane mode, or anywhere in between. Whatever happens to be open at the moment is what stops responding: usually the Home application (because most times the screen is off when it happens), but has already happened with pretty much any application I use. No matter which option I chose the phone never returns to functionality, my only resort at that time is to restart the phone. Pressing 'wait' leaves a frozen phone that eventually displays the dialogue again a few seconds later as many times as I chose that option, 'force close' leaves a black screen, and 'report' does nothing.

Oddly, the lockscreen remains perfectly functional though the clock is frozen and displays the time when the error happened. In fact I usually find out it has happened only hours later when I turn on the screen and the error is waiting for me on unlock. Doesn't seem to happen at particular times or intervals. Pressing the power button to turn the screen on/off or to display the silent mode/airplane mode/power off options also works, but nothing else does. If the music player is on, the current song will play until the end but the next one will not begin. Sometimes the top bar where the time, signal bars, and battery level are located is lost and replaced by all black, or in the case of the lockscreen it will then stretch that little bit further to the edge of the screen.

It happens several times a day, about 3 on average. It started about a month ago and I deleted the last application I had installed prior to the problem but it persisted. It was the only one I had installed in a while. I'm not a programmer or anything like that developing any applications that might provoke this.

What have I tried?
Well like I said I deleted the last installed application, deleted a bunch of other applications that I wasn't using, cleared caches, I transferred a lot of applications to SD card, I have all the updates I can find for applications and the system in general, had task-killers running (with careful while lists) that I'm now completely disabling as the latest thing to try. I installed a logcat application but I really don't know a lot about it... in my research I learned it might provide some information but its utterly incomprehensable to me.

Getting a new phone... factory resets... yeah sounds like that might solve the problem, but I'm looking for fixes that preserve the tons of settings I've spent so much time fine tuning... any ideas??? I'll be glad to provide more information that's actually useful just as soon as I know what to look for... so let me know, thanks.
