I have had a Samsung Charge for the last 2 years and while I haven't had the sort of issues some people have had I have had a lot of freezing problems with the phone that require it to be hard reset at least once a week, and sometimes more. It freezes a lot when using the camera so I rarely use the camera on the phone. I Will be able to update in the next few weeks so I have been researching new phones (Verizon). I really like the Note II and the Galaxy 4S, but I am skeptical of Samsung because of the Charge. I had an original Motorola Droid that was a great phone and never gave me problems, but I keep going back to the Note II especially because I love the huge screen. Any advice, opinions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Server events and addresses sync to the phone,

Discussions of this very common android issue, both on the web and with tech support, all lead to:
"Under Settings, open Accounts and Sync".
But this phone only has Accounts.
There are sync options for the Corporate Sync account--
but unsetting & resetting the check boxes does not solve the problem.
So I'm coming to think it's specifically a Photon issue.

Help would be greatly appreciates.

Smartphone Options for the Budget-Minded

UPDATE - Wednesday, May 15: Verizon Wireless is increasing the data allowance included in prepaid smartphone plans. Current prepaid customers will now receive unlimited talk, unlimited text and 2 GB of data for $60 a month, or for $70 a month, prepaid customers will receive 4 GB of data in addition to unlimited talk and text. The increased data allowance is available to current customers now, and will be available to new customers on June 6.

Feb. 1 - For many facing a tight budget, saving a few dollars each month is important.

So, when it comes time to think about the important task of keeping in touch with friends and family, taking time to investigate wallet-friendly options can mean a few extra dollars for weekend fun or paying down those holiday bills. One option to consider is a prepaid smartphone. Today, Verizon Wireless launched prepaid plans that provide unlimited talk, unlimited texts and 500 MB of data for $60 a month, or for $70 a month, a prepaid customer receives 2 GB of data in addition to unlimited talk and texts.

The plans are available for many 3G smartphones that run on the Android, BlackBerry or iOS operating systems, such as the Samsung Illusion, the HTC DROID Incredible 2 and most BlackBerry models. A new smartphone isn’t necessary to take advantage of the prepaid plans. Often, a no-longer-used smartphone sitting in a drawer at home can be activated on a prepaid plan with no annual contract.

With a smartphone in hand, there are many apps that can help find ways to make a dollar last longer. Groupon provides discounts on items and services ranging from gym memberships to restaurants. The Foursquare app allows check-ins at local spots and may even provide discounts. And, before heading out for a weekend trip, download the Gas Buddy app, which identifies the least expensive places to buy gas.

With an affordable prepaid plan, and some creativity, you can stay in touch with friends and family and save a few dollars along the way.

Since I already use outlook, I thought to just pay a little for the service from MS and do it this way rather than losing updated contacts and trying to maintain multiple lists.

I have an HTC One S, which started downloading and installing random apps from the Play Store last night. I downloaded Avast, hoping it might clear what I can only assume is a virus (I've not downloaded any apps or done anything other than browse facebook or the Guardian for a while, so no idea where I'd have picked one up). I've run the android update, which became available a couple days ago, as it seemed to have stopped, but now today it is back to downloading random crap from the Play Store.

The only way I seem to be able to stop it doing this is to turn off wifi and mobile data. I've set the Play Store to only download over wifi, but it still downloads over mobile data if the wifi is off.

Help! I'd like to be able to use the internet on my phone, but at this rate I'd have to give up using it that way, as it would run through my data in a morning, I'd think! Plus I'm getting rather sick of having to uninstall loads of gambling, game, notebook and other random stuff I don't want.

Thanks for any advice.

Hallo
I have the Samsung GT-S5300 that I bought in March 2013. The OS is Android V 2.3.6 . A friend of mine got hers two weeks ago with OS Android v 4.0.4.
Her phone has a lot more features than mine.
My phone does not have an " Auto answer" function when it is connected via bluetooth in my car. You still have to take it out of your pocket an the change is very good that you can discard the call by doing this.
Next thing is that her phone has an option to answer the call by pressing the home button whilst mine not.

My phone is set for Auto updates, but it does not update above V 2.3.6. If I try to update manually and connect it to the server, I also says No update available.

I have tried do download an update and do it via my PC, but without success.

Can anyone help please?

Regards
