Linking contacts

I am having problems linking contacts. I press the link button and where I want to link it to, but it never works. Now I have multiple contacts in my contact list. My only recourse is to delete the ones that won't link.

Edit/delete/link your unwanted duplicate contacts on the web then delete all contacts on the phone and let resync.

The contacts that won't link are associated with either Facebook, HTC sense Facebook, my phone contacts or gmail contacts. Where would I go on the web to edit those.contacts?

That link sends me to a web search page, so no there's nothing there. I'll just delete my contacts from Facebook and twitter and put everything on the phone. It's a shame a high tech piece of equipment can't figure out the difference between phone numbers.

If you haven't done such a drastic step already, have you signed into your Google account on your computer? If not, do so. Now log into this website from the same PC and click either of the two links Wicked posted. Now see if you can do what you need to from there.
