Is there a "Rooting for Dummies"

I just picked up am Evo ...my 1st Android phone. I know nothing about rooting and rom. I've tried reading some articles and how-to but its all Greek to me. Where can I go for the simplest step by step on how to root this phone? I found the simple root program but saw that's only for phones w Android 2.1 and my phone already has 2.2. I saw something about toast 1 click program but can't find it.

Here is the easiest way to root your Evo. This has step by step instructions and the pictures of the screens you should be seeing as you are going through the process. It took me about 20 min. to complete the rooting process. Go to this link and start at step one....

Hello everyone, I'm a Moto Droid owner...
Just hear to check out the Root for the Evo.
I have a few friends that own them & they are curious about Root
Since I'm the "Goto Guy" for everything "Tech", I will likely have to tackle this for them.
