    App on Start-up

Is there a way to stop certain apps from running on start-up? Is there something built into the system setting I can play with or do I need to download an app for it?

    Thanks...

The only way to do it is by rooting your phone and downloading Autostarts from the market.

I'm not rooted, and I use Startup Auditor to do that.

Sent from my Samsung Moment using Tapatalk.

Startup Auditor doesn't actually prevent apps from starting, it just kills them once they do. It's a task killer, and isn't really good for your device. Some apps may still startup again after being shut down and Startup Auditor has no control over that.

Autostarts on the other hand, actually disables the apps from starting altogether based on certain conditions including startup. If you don't want an app to EVER startup without you doing it, rooting and running an app like Autostarts is pretty much the only way to do it.

Good day. I also am in need of using Autostarts to disable certain apps at startup. I downloaded the app and found that when I attempt to disable an app that message claims I am not rooted. Do I have to download another app for becoming rooted?

No, there is no app that will root your phone. Depending on what software version and hboot version you have on your EVO there are different rooting methods. You can use Unrevoked 3.21 to root every version except for the latest with the latest hboot.
