The AC plug comes off the charger cable. It's a USB to Micro USB cable. Plug the cable into your phone and into a spare USB port on your computer. You will then be able to load the SD card as a disk drive and copy stuff back and forth.
I gave my iPhone to my 5 year old and got an EVO.

Once you connect the phone to your computer, open up "Computer" or "My Computer". You will see the SD card under "Drives with Removable Storage."

Under the "Music" folder there are 3 folders (if not create them with your computer)

    alarms
    notifications
    ringtones

The appropriate sound files go in there.

NOTE: When the computer is connected, the SD card is UNAVAILABLE to the phone, so none of your custom ringtones or alarms will work, nor can you find them to select them as custom sounds. Disconnect the phone and let it "prepare the SD card" and your sounds will then work.
