Gel Skin or Phone Case

I have been searching the web for quite sometime looking for a skin or case to protect my Evo. All I seem to run across are items that make the phone look more bulky than it already is. Can anyone assist me? Thanks

I would say to keep it safe the bulkier the better - my friend went with the Otterbox on his EVO but it does make it bulkier - does Sprint not have a selection to choose from ?

I have the Otter case too. The Otter case sticks out just beyond the camera lens and it really isn't that bulky. Good quality case. I checked out the other cases but none of them could beat the camera lens protection of the Otter! The camera lens is the first thing that touches the surface when you put it down. Very poor planning on HTC's part.

I have an Incipio case for my Droid X and I would highly recommend this brand. Not only do they make nice looking cases but it offers good protection w/o getting all that bulk.

I picked up the HTC black gel case when I got my 4G. It adds just enough 'skin' to keep the camera lens off of surfaces. Love the thin profile.

I think whatever will take the most impact if device is dropped, no matter how bulky it is. Nothing worst than a broken phone.

A gel skin will trap dust and grit and all sorts of crap under it worse than a case will. That's been my experience.

Yeah I have the HD2 and Vibrant, the HD2 came with the case and allows has something under it. However, I have dropped the phone twice and I am glad for the gel case because the phone bounced and no cracks or scuffs on it. *knocks on wood*

Maybe I baby mine too much. I take it out of the case and wipe it down about 3 times a week, make sure I carry it in a pocket without keys and coins, and light a candle by it's picture each evening before bed time.

Well, I just made up the part about the candle, but you get the idea.

Bottom line, I have a gel case and my EVO still looks brand new.

Lol, that is too funny. Yes, I agree, I take off the protective cover every day and use a wipe to clean it. I guess I am kinda OCD that way... Oh well!
