Evo says I'm in Alaska, any other ideas to fix?

I walked out to put my Netflix movie in the mailbox last night and, when I glanced at my phone, I realized the time was an hour off.

I checked and it listed me as being in Alaska for my current location.

Please note that this is not the weather widget, I don't use the ones that came with the phone and the one I do use, lists the correct location. I did, however, try that fix, anyway, out of desperation.

This is in the actual phone date and time settings. If I tick the box for automatic, it goes right back to saying I'm in Alaska.

Maps, TeleNav and everything else I've tried show the right location.

I updated the profile, the PRL, turned everything off, cleared caches and data, turned everything on, rebooted, pulled the battery, switched where it gets the location data, turned off all location data...

You get the picture! Nothing has worked, even if it's all turned off, as soon as I tick that box, I'm in Alaska!

    Any other ideas?

So you're in Seattle right, and Alaska is a time zone over...probably has something to do with daylight savings time, for some reason your device hasn't fully picked up on it and your location is being based off of the time it thinks it is as opposed to your true location

But it was correct, until about 9:30 last night, when it suddenly switched.

But yes, the time here was GMT-8, until the change, now it's GMT-7.

I resorted to a factory reset, since I've got everything backed up and good news, I'm back in Seattle.

Darn wish I saw this earlier. If this happens to anyone else or if you experience it again; just take the battery cover off, with the device still powered on and remove the battery, wait a minute, install battery, and power device back on. It should solve most issues. This also works for other issues that may arrise with your phone.

Thanks, but I actually did try that last night. It had my location correct, when it first booted back up, but within a minute, it flipped back to Alaska.

My texts were also screwed up. After the reset, I got a flood of them, all from several hours ago

Yeah, my daughter-in-law has the touch pro2 and she lives in shoreline, was complaining about not getting texts and her phone jumped ahead two hours instead of only one hour.

I got voicemail, too. Seems anything that required Sprint's network just went out for me, sometime last night.
