I am new to Android, but have been a big fan of HTC, TMo and Google for a long time, so the G2 is a great convergence for me. At the risk of ridicule, please explain the fascination of over-clocking (past factory specs, lets not split hairs) a device that works so well out of the box. I can understand mods to remove unwanted apps, but it seems to make as much sense to me to over-clock as it would to have taken my new Lexus from the dealer to get a beer can exhaust put on... Not trying to stir anything up, please just let me know the benefits of a "faster" G2.

ITTA...I ended up with a hacked Nexus 1, and gave my wife my stock N1...I DO have a few issues with my Cyanogen build, so there ARE tradeoffs to hacking/modding your phone. If it's a 'mission-critical' device you rely on for business...leave it stock! If it's a toy, go ahead and play with it, and accept the risks that entails.
