I'm in Sri Lanka. My Inspire 4G is worse that my wife's HTC touch dual ... may be My US purchased (AT&T) phone is not compatible with our local wireless operators... I'm only connected to EDGE whereas the old HTC touch dual connects to 3G / HSPDA ...
can somebody help on this matter.....?

Different service providers use different frequencies for 3G. In the United States if you use an AT&T phone on T-mobil you would get the same result. Edge only. You might check to see what frequencies your service provider actually uses.
