I am posting this to the HTC Sensation 4G group (hopefully) because that is what I got! The Monitor is Syncmaster SA350 from Samsung,
and since I could not find the original HDMI cable provided by Samsung, I bought one. Is there a possibility that these cables are different?

HDMI is HDMI unless your phone is using HDMI 1.3 and the monitor only goes to 1.2. Even then, you'd think the phone would be able to lower the data stream so the monitor could keep up.

Is the monitor capable of the input level (1080P or whatever) that the phone is capable of outputting?

What fbm is suggesting. When I said about phone I am talking about your profile. You have listed in the current phone section your phone number. A suggestion: change it to the model of phone. You do not want people crank calling you.

If you cannot figure out how to remove the number I will ask an Admin to do it for you. Just let us know.

Thanks for the help, all. The phone is HTC sensation 4G. I thought I posted this to the Sensation 4G group. I am having a lot of problems with this phone. I used to have the original G1 and then the Nexus One. There should be a way to go standard/stock Android without having to put up with HTC UI. It seems very unstable. I am looking forward to the update hoping it will resolve many of the problems. If not I am moving to another phone.

Try an aftermarket launcher like ADW (both free and paid ADW EX), Launcher Pro (free and paid Pro Plus), Go Launcher (EX)...
