Post Thanks System replaced with Likes System

I wanted to post a quick update and let everyone know about a smal change that we've made recently to the post thanks system. We've replaced it with VBSEO's "Likes" System which I think is a bit more feature rich and integrated and will most certainly have great future support as well.

It's a bit hard to explain all the details of it so I'll instead link you to the VBSEO thread discussing it, complete with screenshots.

With the "likes" posted in the right hand corner of each thread and an available shortcut to the posts in question I say the likes have it

    "Thanks"
For Me it means...I understand the Issues, they were explained in detail on How to resolve.....
Now.. "Thanks"...is my appreciation for them taking the time with me...
    (Formal protocol)

    "Like"
Is to give me the Option to make Choices...Do you like this Forum? Do you like Football?...Yes I do...
    (Here comes the Button)
    "Thanks"

Do you prefer "Hey You" or "John"...

    Which one do you "Like'?

"Thanks" for me. Thanks means the info I gave helped. The likes doesnt show up unless you scroll over or tap your screen on the phones web browser. "Thanks" was more personal and makes more sense than "likes".

Maybe use likes for for non RS/non development subforums. And use thanks for those subforums where members ask for help....

    D X'er

Great Idea...Just keep in mind..."Like" is very Non-Formal...Seriously this is a No Brainer....

I have a question for you John...
If you have Kids...would it be acceptable to say...."Could you please pass the Milk"....Sure...."Like"....

The Appreciation for something well done by the Individual Person is "Thanks" or "Thank you"...Not "Like"....End Of Story...

Leave it at "Thanks" This is an Awesome Forum...But...Your the decision Maker...

Oh, Thank you for listening... Thanks John

"Likes" is a great system for keeping track of pertinent and good information in a thread. A++

Thanks tend to give forums a "popularity contest" feel in my opinion...

I "like" both of the systems, and I "thank" the admins for trying to make the forum a better and more efficient place to be.

At DXF, the thanks aren't given on a who people like, but rather on who helped you. There are many people with lots of posts at DXF but not many thanks and some people with only a few posts but many thanks due to great guides or dishing out helpful info. Thats just how i feel.
