Hi my name is Gary and im making a big leap....

Hi my names gary and im making a big leap in the next two days, i have just ordered myself a brand new HTC DESIRE S, and thought i would sign up to this forum to find out new info and cool tips and tricks..

First off just wanted to ask if i have done the right thing, my current phone is IPHONE 3G 8GB its old news nowadays, so have i done the right thing by going with an HTC DESIRE S ,

Also can anyone give me some really good examples of the differences of every day use between an Iphone 3g 8gb and a Htc Desire S

Thanks, hope to make some new phone friends on here, cheers

Welcome to the forum. The HTC Desire S is a good phone. As far as iPhone vs Android, the iPhone is smooth and graphically nice. However, android is better with not having all apps costing you money. Android is fun and there's always something new and exciting. If you want on android to have a different look just download a launcher from the market and different themes.
There's a lot of things better and I'm drawing a blank right now.

Difference in day-to-day use would be immediate access to all your favorite apps because you have them on your home screens instead of buried in your, well, what we'd call app drawer. Better integration with GMail, for example. Notifications for immediate access to your incoming text messages, twitter mentions, and Facebook (if you use such a thing). The widgets can be awesome if you use them, not to mention potentially gorgeous.

And that's just the short list.

Oh, and no need to muck about with iTunes. Ever.
