Hello to All, query about Voip support on Galaxy s2

Hi All, Just bought Samsung Galaxy S2 and just can't stop admiring it. 10 year back I bought a desktop with 256MB RAM and 700 MHz intel processor which weighted around 20kgs. Can't believe how much things have changed since then. This phone looks more than a phone to me, a webtop maybe.

Just have a question about VOIP calling. I'm aware that Gingerbread have a built it support for SIP (Voip internet calling), but I can't find one in my phone. Can anyone suggest where can find it? I don't want to use other apps like FRING to make voip call and normal dialer for my local calls.

    Thanks.

Google Voice, but you'll have to sign up for a service that uses SIP, and the setup is tricky.

You'll have to use some kind of app to work SIP on Android. But you CAN set Google Voice up to do it, provided your plan has a Friends and Family feature and you are willing to burn one of those numbers for Google Voice. And you'll have to pay attention, because the dialout number can change.

The SIP feature is actually still built into 2.3.3 on the GS2, but Samsung deleted it in their Settings app. You can actually download a package from XDA-Developers that will put a new Settings.apk on your phone that shows the SIP Settings.

Do you need to be rooted for this to work?

PLEASE HELP ME WITH "HOW TO" to get native sip operating on my new Samsung s2.
I can't believe a top of line phone does not have this necessary phone feature?
100$ nokias have had this for a few years.
Nonetheless , i have requested this on many forums without response , so some simple direction (again I'm an ex simple symbian user !), would be much appreciated as the rooting etc is what I'm currently trying to get my head around.
