Hey, my name's Crystal. I live in Tampa, Florida, and I'm still kind of a noob to android. I got my first one in January 2011, through metro pcs, but their 1x data connect does androids no justice. I recently bought the galaxy prevail from boost, and am much happier with 3G speed. I've rooted all of my phones so far, and my friends' androids, I'm interested now in flashing a new rom, overclocking, and any other hacks and tweaks out there. Any advice that wont leave me with a bricked prevail will be much appreciated! Lookin forward to chatting and learning some new ish!

Howdy Crystal! We don't like bricks around here either! Fortunately, we have a Rescue Squad to keep us from hitting 'brick' walls!

Welcome to the forum. Overclocking of a device is kind of a tricky subject. First off someone has to create a custom rom than can be overclocked. Next, it puts a strain on the cpu. Now everyone will debate this statement but, the fact is yes it can be done, if done properly it should not fry the phone, etc and what not. Bottom line is it shortens the life of the components if left to run on an overclocked speed. Guess my point is, sure I can drive down a side street at 150 mph, but should I drive down it that fast? At some point we become too laxed in things and that's when we run into brick walls.

As for flashing a ROM, I am unfamiliar with your phone, but if you'd like, I can look to see if there are any ROMs and instructions for flashing them -- assuming your phone is unlocked enough it can be done.
