    Granny in Training

    Hello all,

    I am trying to learn these new gadgets to be able to stay current with the grandkids. I have a Craig CMP738b as a beginner tablet until I learn some of the features and want to invest in a more expensive tablet. I have been reading posts about rooting your tablet. Is this something I should do and where do I find the directions to do it? Thank you.

    I would recommend not rooting your tablet for two very important reasons:

    1: It will void your warranty so getting service if the device fails will be difficult if not impossible;
    2: It opens your tablet up for all sorts of nastiness from the web/Android Market that if the device is stock (in this case, not rooted) will have some level of protection against.

    Welcome to the forum. As you can see from my name I'm a grandmother too. The advice given in the post above is spot on. Don't worry about rooting. Just learn what all your tablet is capable of in a stock state. If you have any questions, we'll try to help you out. You might also want to check out our sister site http://www.androidtablets.net/
