Okay - nothing can make me feel older than a smart phone.
It's what led me here. Actually, the update to Ice Cream Sandwich really did it.
I lost my red icon for missed calls, all the icons in the notification bar are tinier and grey, and the phone is not friendly to those of us who don't do well with tiny icons. The entire device looks and works differently.

I downloaded a free ap called icon downloader because I downloaded a free ap called Notification Toggle.
Download appears to work - but no icons show up in the gallery. Here's the dumb-as-dirt fact of the matter. I do not know if I even HAVE an SD card in the device. How can I even tell?

This is basic stuff, but I'd thought the doggone thing came with the SD card when I bought it.
I really need help - and the Verizon "lessons" are near to useless.

I hope I'm not a pest, but I really need to tap into those users willing to share their knowledge.

From home.screen go.to settings/storage. Tap Storage and it will tell if you have an SD card installed and how much available memory os available if you do have one.

BTW there is no such thing as a dumb question in any android forum. We all are here to learn from and help one another.

Jimmy i just remembered most phones do NOT come with an SD card. The card that comes with the phone is called a SIM card which is set up when your phone is activated by your carrier.

Welcome to the forum! The above directions will show you if you have a card or not. If you don't have one they're cheap enough to get and installation is a simple affair. We'll happily talk you through it if you want, too.
