I just got done testing 4 browsers: Dolphin, Opera, Skyfire, Miren.
I tested them on the following criteria:
1. Size Listed In Market
2. Size On Phone
3. Size On Phone (Moved To SD)
4. Speed and Response
5. Ease of Use
6. Extras
The final scores:
Dolphin - 13
Opera - 4
Skyfire - 11
Miren - 16
Total possible score was 24.
See full review here: http://www.droidciti...wsers/index.php
I updated the scores. When I created the report for my site, the number didn't quite match what I had previous listed.

Which Dolphin? The original, HD or Mini?
I may have to check out Miren.

I will have to take a look at it again and see. The default browser has a major security flaw. Even after clearing cache, history form data, it was possible to login to my bank account without having to reenter my password and account #.

The test was based on the original. Although I have tried both the HD and the Mini. Out of the three I liked the mini the best but for the purpose of the test I limited it to the standard versions.
Opera has a mini too that I didn't install.
Dolphin was my favorite before 2.2 but it doesn't seem to work the same now.

I too liked DolphinHD the best on 2.1. I've been finding myself using Dolphin Mini more and more. never used Miren, will have to give it a go.

I haven't tried the "chrome to phone app" myself yet https://chrome.googl...ffjbfekfjcgkhco so I don't know what kind of effect it would have on the mobile browser
I will have to try Skyfire again since no flash with our 2.2.1 update but when I used it before it was so slow I couldn't stand it with 2.1 but maybe that will be different now with 2.2.1. I liked Dolphin HD but it was slower than the stock browser also so I gave up on it.
I am not totally comfortable yet on exactly how secure it is to use banking apps or credit cards apps in general on a mobile platform so I stay away from those types of apps anyway so if the stock browser is still the fastest overall I will continue to use it over any of the other alternative browsers

@ Jazz, I agree with you that Dolphin HD was slow. Give Miren a try, it was the best out of the 4 for speed.
@bks, you would think that Google would already have Chrome preinstalled instead of the generic browser that we do have.
