    I've seen a few people around the web saying they had no problem rooting the phone again. I haven't bothered yet since having the phone rooted before didn't really seem all that useful to me. I removed a few preloaded apps and that was it.

    That's why I haven't rooted yet either. I've yet to see any real reason to do it at the moment except to remove some preinstalled apps. Once custom roms show up (if they do), I might revisit the whole rooting thing.

    Got bored tonight, was able to successfully re-root my phone with the new V8 software. It only took about 30 seconds to do the root process this time.

    I am unable to get root to work, ive been trying so many times and i just cant getit to work. I think something is wrong with the way I am sending the files to the phone. Here is the output from when I use ADB to push the files to the. I notice it saying 0 bytes. Is that normal?

    Code:
    C:\android\sdk\tools>adb push su/asroot2 /data/local

    * daemon not running. starting it now *

    * daemon started successfully *

    931 KB/s (0 bytes in 74512.000s)

    C:\android\sdk\tools>adb push su/su /sdcard/su

    1383 KB/s (0 bytes in 22128.000s)

    C:\android\sdk\tools>adb push su/Superuser.apk /sdcard/Superuser.apk

    2397 KB/s (0 bytes in 38360.000s)
    ADB sees the phone fine, if i use adb devices it shows up the MEID of my phone. I have tried 2 different computers to get this working, but both show 0 bytes sent when i send su asroot2

    Universal Androot in the market roots and unroots with the click of a single button. Saw it on androidforums and tested it out, took less than a minute!

    I don't see it in the market. Has anyone else had any luck with it?

    Can anyone confirm if universal androot works definitively on the Ally? I only want to do it so I can delete some of the stock apps I am not using.

    Thanks!!

    I installed it, says it's rooted and the superuser shortcut is available. However I cannot uninstall the worthless stock apps. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong.

    Can someone confirm it works and post directions?
