I'm aware the ally dosebt have a GPU but anything will help me.

I'm not sayin my ally is slow. It just could be more powerful.

Return the Ally and get a Droid, Droid 2, Droid X or Incredible. That's about the only way you will possibly get better speed and\or power. The Ally is not a power phone and never will be no matter what you do to it. It's a mid range phone a very good one at that.

My main concern was that it lags a lot.

    How can I fix this..?

Get a Droid, Droid 2, Droid X or Incredible. Mid range phones will always exhibit some lag. Thankfully my Ally doesn't lag in my opinion. It may take a few seconds longer to load somthing compared to more powerful phones, but I expect that. Afterall, it is a midrange phone.

Install the new update. It makes the phone much more tolerable.

There are a couple of ways to do that. The first way is to overclock, and after doing some research (My gf has the LG Ally, I have the Motorola Droid), there are no LG Ally kernels out there that I can see that allow overclocking, the stock one definitely doesn't!

The other way to do that is to alter your available memory, not but using a task killer, but by using a program that tweaks Android's Memory Management settings. I've just now installed Autokiller Memory Optimizer on my Droid and I'm going to see how it works.

To the user who says midrange phones always lag, that's blatantly false. It really boils down to how you use it. High end phones can lag too, if that user loads all kinds of crap on it.

There are different launchers on the market that DO run smoother. One of the features I liked about my gf's LG Ally is that it automatically comes with a home-screen switcher, mainly because it has two different ones already installed, the LG Ally Home theme, and the Stock Android Theme.

There are two different Launchers on the market both prized for their smoothness, ADW Launcher, and Launcher Pro. I'm an avid user of ADW Launcher, but you will find just as many avid LauncherPro fans here too.

There are several Custom Roms and a Overclocked kernel for the ally. Also there is a new JIT Engine and many enhancements. My ally scores a 528 on the quadrant app. I use luancher pro.
