when your typing a text on the android keyboard(touchscreen), there is a microphone symbol on the left side of the space bar. hit that then say what you want...

after you have a message thread open, the message to want to delete just long press on, then a list will show up and delete message is at the bottom...

    Help!

I'm having a problem receiving 2 duplicate text messages when I get it from fellow Verizon users. The only difference is one of the messages has the call back number or "CB" for example:

    kool thanks bye

    (cb)xxx-xxx-xxxx

    kool thanks bye

Does anyone out there know how i can turn this feature off?? or is having the same problem.

This is interesting because I have txtd back and forth w many fellow verizon subscribers for years and have never experienced this. In fact, I was enjoying how much nicer it is than it was on my Alias.

Upon further research however, some do experience this and I've learned that it is an indication of a perceived *failed sent* msg which can be caused by a phone's outdated software, or by a weak signal which seems to be the case here since the software gets autoupdated as soon as you activate the phone. If you're moving in and out of service, it may resend the msg upon a *reconnect* with the service and if it cuts out again, it thinks it is a failed msg and will resend. Nice in theory but annoying and can be expensive if you do not have unlimited in-txting. Call verizon and let them know and recheck your bill!

Many Verizon subscribers aren't even aware that they can manually update their phone's software by dialing *228
(tho not sure if this also applies to an Android phone)

other stuff you can check on your phone from your phone:

    Minutes Usage - #MIN

    Account Balance - #BAL

    Make a Payment - #PMT

    Data Usage - #DATA

    Cust Svc: *611

    * The My Verizon App does all this and more

I had the same problem when I was running the handcent messaging app. At first I had no idea why it was doing it, then i realized it started doing it after I started using it... So I removed the app and the problem was gone... Not sure if your using handcent but if so thats prob your problem. Sucks cuz I really like that app because I can customize my message vibrate pattern, but it was not worth the annoying double mess thing... My buddy has the same problem with handcent and his incredible.
