I am experiencing this as well. II have done a reset and tried DG Alerts but am still getting no sound on ANY alerts. This is really becoming a problem. Do I need to return this phone to Verizon?

I'm losing sounds as well. I have tried every default tone available and all my phone will do is vibrate and the light blinks. Annoying.Im going to try DG Alerts and see if it helps

As I have posted a thread too, I am experiencing these same issues. I also work for VZW and this is NOT a known issue with the Ally. What size memory card is everyone using, I am starting to thing it has something to do with a larger sized memory card.

Good question! What leads you to think it has to do with the size of the MicroSD?? Have you seen this on other Android devices?

FYI--As long as I leave off the auto-sync & wi-fi, the sounds seem to stay longer. Not a perfect answer, but it works better than leaving them on & having to power off & on again. Hope this helps some of ya :-)

The reason I was asking about the memory card size is simply it is shipped with a smaller sized card, I however am using a bigger sized card, I was just wondering if the Ally could not support the overload... I have never seen this issue before Just a thought.

I'm having the same issue with my phone, am using the sd card that came installed with the phone. I have tried EVERYTHING to get the sounds to work. Going to try some of the suggestions here to see if they work.

    Thanks!

    I have no such issue

I turn ringer on loudest setting from vibrate and never have sound going away - I also have wifi on sometimes and off sometimes - same for 3g ... in fact, the sounds on this phone are the loudest I've ever heard on any phone so far that I have to turn the vol DOWN when I have my headset on to listen to slacker radio or some phone conversations or youtube vids (and I have nerve deafness).

After reviewing so many w the same issues, I am beginning to think the Linux code for Android needs to be polished. Apps are conflicting w each other, or with the OS itself on the phones. The fact that the phones were working out of the box, then began to *have issues* seems to correlate with the time when people are installing and downloading apps of all kinds and not really paying attention to the warnings about what the apps themselves can alter and have access to. Be more wary and read more of the comments and reviews of apps and not just the first 3 shown.

I sure hope the Ally gets Froyo or some Android update soon to address the most common issues such as these.
