I just switched from a Blackberry Curve to an LG droid and am having a hard time figuring out how to perform several functions that were very familiar to me on my crackberry and I miss them! Could anyone please tell me how you delete all the prior emails. Thank you so much! So excited to have found a place where I can learn all the basics... then, not-so-basics!

    Happy Saturday!

I have not been able to find a way to delete more than one email at a time with the default email app. Also, if you delete an email from your inbox, it only moves it to the trash folder. You have to delete it a second time from the trash folder in order to remove it from the phone. It is one of the few things that I don't like about the default email apps.

For the gmail app, you can logon to your gmail account on you pc and delete multiple emails but if there is a way to do it on the phone, I have not found it yet.

Imagine my surprise today as I happened to notice that my "Trash" folder had over 4,000 messages... and then the tedious task of deleting the 4,000 messages! UGH There has to be a better way! ? Perhaps an AP?

    Happy Thursday!

I figured this out and now I feel stupid!

Go into your trash folder. To the left of each thread is a gray check box. Touch the check box and it will turn green. You continue to touch each thread you want to remove. When ready, touch the Delete button.

Although if I had 4,000 messages, I think I would just delete the account and then re-add it.

K-9 mail (free in the market) has an option to "select all".

Not for nothing, but where is the trash folder? Level 2 Verizon help never mentioned anything like that, they just said there is no way to delete my yahoo and hotmail messages, since they reside on another server (deleted messages kept coming back).

Make sure that your delete option is set to "When I delete from Inbox".

    Press menu.

    Touch Account Settings.

    Touch Incoming Settings.

Touch Change Delete Email from Server.

Touch When I delete from inbox.

Your trash folder won't show up until you delete your first email after you change the above setting.

To get to the trash folder.

    Press Menu button.

    Touch Folders.

    Touch Trash.

OK, now I have Trash, but in my ol' lady's phone (in Yahoo), there is no Change Delete Email from Server option under Incoming settings. There IS that in her Hotmail account. Any ideas?

Is the Yahoo account setup using the default email app? If yes, has she deleted any emails with that account yet?
