I ran Universal Androot and root was successful. I installed Titanium backup from the market because I read that this will uninstall preinstalled apps on a rooted phone. Titanium gives me an error that it cant get root access because I am not rooted or do not have BusyBox. I have no idea what busybox is but i found it in the market and installed. I then rebooted phone. Titanium is still telling me I am not rooted or dont have busybox but I have both. What am i doing wrong? p.s. I did NOT do a temporary root with androot.

Nevermind I didn't realize that Titanium had a built-in option to install BusyBox

Ok so after removing facebook, myspace, amazon, and thinkfree. I gained 0MB of internal space. Whats gives? Also before I uninstalled the 4 previously mentioned apps I backed them up with Titanium however I don't see how to put them back?

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm not sure exactly how Titanium works either. I just rooted my phone yesterday and am ready to use some custom ROMs. Just want to understand everything better first before I start removing apps.

I also just removed Skype which I know should have freed up close to 10MB but again I gained absolutely no more space on internal storage. Either I am doing this wrong or Titanium is not really removing the app, just hiding it.

That link explained how to restore my apps that were removed. Thank you for that. But i'm still wondering why I seem to gain no internal memory after Titanium uninstalls a system app.
