Well here's an update for this particular situation. I found z4root, downloaded it, installed, and ran the program to gain my root access back. That saved me a lot of headache from flashing back to V6 and OTA back to VZB or VZC.

Got an update this weekend, it went so fast that I am NOT sure what just happened:

My SW Version are as follows:

    VS740ZVB

Is that the latest? I have a feeling that it is not... I click on System Updates and it said it is the latest...

Can somebody confirm this for me under the Phone Setting/About Phone?

Nope, VZB isn't the latest update.

All I want to know is WHEN will LG release the 2.2 update??? I've contacted Verizon more than once since it was announced back in August that the LG Ally would get the 2.2 update. Verizon says they have no control over when the Ally will get the Android 2.2 OS update. They said it is all up to LG. It doesn't make any sense that the Motorola DRIOD with an under-performing processor running UNDER 600 MHz gets the update but the LG ALLY with a true 600 MHz processor gets the run around.

It fixed the bug for apps that stopped working after a reboot. But other than that, it did nothing for me.

I'm running Velocity 0.3 and I'm getting the update pushed to me. I keep hitting INSTALL LATER. If I install the update, will it actually install? I didn't think I would get updates since I'm running a custom ROM.
