It will reset your phone to "out of box." It will remove all apps and info and restore to factory settings. Your contacts are safe if you have synced them with Gmail. If not, you should do that first. Then backup Apps you want. Your reset will not effect the SD Card. You'll be prompted to "touch the Android to begin" just like the first time.

No, you can reprogram it yourself by dialing *228 and Option 1.

Don't be cheap. Just rebuy them! haha, j/k Your purchases are tied to your google email and should be there to redownload for free.
