How to delete email from trash folder.

I'm trying to find a way to permanently delete all the emails in the trash folder. I though once deleted they's be gone owever the trash folder seems to keep them and I can find no way to 'empty' that folder.

I go into my email account on my computer every so often and empty it there.



You might also check in your email settings how often the trash is emptied and have it empty when messages have been in it a shorter time (if you can adjust that, I don't remember).

Is there no way to delete directly from the phone?

Depends on which email app you are using.



If you are using the gmail app, it is easier to delete the trash emails online. Gmail emails are not stored on your phone and don't take up any memory.



If you are using the non Gmail app, the only way to delete the emails is to go into the trash folder and delete them.
