It can be done, but it's not for the faint of heart. I don't know if there are any apps that can do it, but if your phone is rooted, you can install a custom ROM and play with the scripts. Rooting and custom ROMs void your warranty, and installing them can be a little overwhelming.

Font are very easy to flash if you're rooted. You can get them in flashable ZIPs that are flashed in recovery. Can't much easier as far as flashing goes.
