So, I have had my Ally since August and lately things have been going horrible with it. I have only 4 apps downloaded (which don't take much space) and my phone always has very low memory. I can delete my messages and that doesn't fix it, and I will go clear the data on things which sometimes works. I have the 4 GB SD card that came with the phone. How can I fix it?

This is a theme that often comes up here on the forum., Please do take some time to look through some of the older threads for ideas that have been shared until someone gets to your question. You may have found that one of the previously given answers is the one you need.

Once again I suggest searching older threads on this topic as a number of different answers have been given a number of times. Then let the group know what you have already tried. When group members know that they have answered the same question over and over again they sometimes don't answer until they see that the person asking for help has tried some thing that have already been suggested and nothing worked. It does sometimes seem as if the same solutions are offered over and over again without people looking at past threads to see the answer right there.

So: go back through older threads about low memory and try some of the already suggested solutions. If those don't work come on back and tell people what you have tried and ask if there are any other ideas. And realize that some helpful, knowledgable group members don't get on the forum every day, some are only on once a week or so and then answer as many questions as they can. So it may take several days for you to get help.

Something big that just helped me tremendously...

    Delete Data for facebook.

You'll have to re-log in, but it cleared up over 22M of memory.

Why it stored that much I'll never know.

You'll also want to delete old emails (from your trash bin) and any pics from text messages.

    Those alone should help tremendously.

Why LG put such crappy hardware in suce a great phone I'll never know.

    Such a simply fix...

They screwed the pooch on this one.

Thank you for this advice! I cleared the data for facebook and a few other apps and cleared up almost 40M! I never knew how to do that before. Thanks

I just learned from LG support how to delete my trash can. And it worked wonders. There is no mention of how to in the manual. why would they leave that out???
