Ringtones deleting themselves?

It has been awhile since I've been on here because my phone is like perfect. Ok, well not perfect, but I LOVE this phone since the froyo update.



So, I've not done anything at all to it in the last few weeks except use the phone like normal (also no damage, either). In the last day, I have received several text messages/phone calls, but my normal notification/ringtone never played. I decided to check into it. I noticed that when I went to the notification sound area under settings, all my sounds were there that I've had forever. However, every time I touch one, it has the same sound (like some kind of default sound). First thing I did was turn off the phone, take the battery out, put it back in & restart.



I went to my settings again & all of the sounds I spent time finding & uploading were gone. So, knowing I needed to check out the Media folder, I went there. When I first got all my sounds, I put them in the appropriate folders (Ringtones, Alarms, Notifications, etc) under Media to make sure everything would play correctly. When I went to check it out, my Media folder is completely empty now. There are no sub folders or even any sounds. I've checked all other folders & did not find them hiding anywhere else. My kids are not old enough to play with the phone & my hubby has his own phone. Has anyone heard of the phone just deleting randomly? I seem to have everything else, though. I'm extremely confused & afraid to start over for fear of this happening again. I will, though, but just curious to know if this has happened to anyone else. Thanks in advance for any ideas or comments.

Sounds like the SD card got reformatted. But if you moved any apps to the SD card and they still work then that is not what happened. I keep a backup of my SD card in case of accidental erasing.
