I only use the default app but there are several apps on the market that may or may not have a drop down for contacts. There are others here that can give more information on these apps.

I answered the font question on the other thread.

On another thread I've asked about changing the font size for text messages.

The pull down would be nice but the font size maybe the deal breaker.

I'm in the 30 days and it will be the reason for taking it back.

Handcent SMS will cover all of your needs and it's free. I use it and it's great.

When you hit compose, you'll see a green button in the To field. Press it and your contacts will be displayed. It also allows full customization of font type and size (note: some fonts may require you to DL a pack from Handcent).

On another note, make sure you go into your stock messaging app to disable the notifications. If you don't you'll get notifications from both apps when you get a new text.

    Thanks Handcent works great.

I could adjust the fonts too.

It took some playing, at first the pull down had the contacts but they were all grayed out.

Yes they all had mobile phone numbers .

Everything that was going to be a deal breaker for me, has been covered on this forum. Embrace that which is Ally, and forget about the 30 days. Still your decision...

Thanks for the info. This is a great forum! I finally learned how to hide "all" of my contacts that got on my phone from my email. Every time I went into contacts I was getting everybody with an email etc.
