This is a discussion on How do you put music on lg ally? within the LG Ally Tutorials & FAQ's forums, part of the LG Ally category; Thank you so much. This helped a ton....
I am using Windows Media 11. It has the synch tab, that will load the libary to my phone. The problem is that it will not use the artist. It list all songs as unknown artist. If I tap the album ( What is an album?) I do get a list of the albums, but again the artist is unknown. The other problem I'm having is that the only play list I get on the phone is "Recently Added' I have created play list on the computer.
OK I figured out how to create a play list, but I still can not get the artist.
Okay, I am trying to get my computer (Windows Vista) to accept or recognize my LG Ally. I have followed all the links in this thread and downloaded the updater and the supposed drivers. My computer even shows the LG Modem installed and working but I get nothing when I plug my phone into my computer.
No extra drive, nothing in the notifications screen.
Thanks for any help.
Thank you!!!! I am not by any means stupid about technology, but until now- the androids were a lil too much $$$... I just got the ally & I was kinda feeling retarded as to how to connect it to my laptop.... phones in the past required the purchase of software to sync music... but that wasn't offered to me.... the trick was to pull down the notification bar for me.... I've had the phone for 6 hrs at time of this post... Thank you!!!! normally i do not find answers to my questions this easy...
When i plug my phone into the computer, instead of making the normal sound all PC's make it makes a different sound, and it doesnt seem to recognise it. (it does not say "device not recognized") and when i open up My Computer it doesnt show up... this is fairly frusturating, considering no one else is having this problem....
I was told by the Verizon lady to download (on my computer & phone) the DoubleTwist app. Made it easier for me, as I was having trouble too with just connecting the USB & transferring music. Lets me transfer pics too.
DoubleTwist is for a fee. IMO this should be free. The process is described above. Also ensure Debugging is not activated.
You got lucky than or you might find a $4.99 charge on your phone bill.

Another way to add music to your phone is to download them. I am using a FREE App that downloads FREE MP3 music from around the world. I use the App called "gTunes" but I tried out quite a few others. It all boils down to UI.
