I live in an area where my cell phone carrier's signal strength is low and in specific spots of my house the signal is unavailable. I'd like to turn off the audio that regularly notifies me of loss of cell phone signal by saying "loss of service" and then "verizon wireless" when it is available again. How can I do that?

Can you check and see what the ERI setting is?
Push the Menu button, touch Settings, touch Wireless and Networks, touch Mobile Networks.
Quick note, ERI is the Enhanced Roaming Indicator. On older phones, you'd have an icon displayed when roaming, or out of the service area. With ERI you get a banner on the homescreen and or a voice notification letting you know the status.
