At 24 MB, Android will kill empty apps.

At 22 MB, Android will kill content providers.

At 20 MB, Android will kill hidden apps.

At 16 MB, Android will kill secondary servers.

At 8 MB, Android will kill visible apps.

At 6 MB, Android will kill foreground apps.

The threashold RAM for Android is 16 MB. You need at least 16 MB for Android to operate but Android starts killing stuff at 24 MB.

i had an interesting experience 2 days ago...after reading the app killer debate post. so i uninstalled it, and just let the droid go. at around 11pm after all day use. for some reason i couldnt open anything. it would start an app, then go back to home screen. i couldn't even go to settings/*.* (if you get my DOS wildcard reference).

i was at 22MB. had no way of knowing what was being used, aside from the quick launch. powered down; and back to normal.

so i re-installed ATK. cleared some caches. thats still really good info to post, thanks.
