Stop automatic update downloads

I do not want any of my apps to be updated. Every time they are, my phone gets the "low memory" notification. How do I turn off the automatic downloads of updates? Barney

If it's an app you downloaded yourself then you need to go into the app and set it so automatic updating isn't allowed. If it's the bloatware that Verizon decided you have to have I deleted the updates and data from the Market app and keep on uninstalling the updates as I don't use those programs. It took several uninstalls but finally it just tells me there is an update available but does not download and install it.

Of course we could both root our phones and get rid of the bloatware which would also solve the problem and free up more space on the phone.
