Is Android 2.3 Gingerbread Coming to Ally?

Does anyone know if and when the latest and greatest android system coming to the Ally?

There are indeed rumors that Gingerbread may be coming to the Ally. I sure hope so because it looks great! I would like to hear what you have heard. Thanks for your input!

In ROM form, I'd say yes. In official OTA I'd say less chance than Tantalus getting a drink on a hot day in Hades.

As soon as a dev with an Ally decides to build one and test it. I'm not up on the current Ally ROM scene, but I understand it was never very active. However, that particular understanding is in comparison to the Droid 1 scene.

D1, though I wouldn't have turned my nose up at the Ally when I was looking for phones.

I base my opinion on my knowledge of corporate culture and the fact that when Gingerbread started dropping LG went out of their way to make it clear they weren't interested in updating older phones and covering it with some bull about CPU or RAM requirements. There's no margin in LG for making an official 2.3 update when they're throwing all their resources into the new phones.

I wouldn't think it will because I used to use that phone and I don't think it has the memory capacity (very low, I could barely put apps on it before it told me the memory was full) or the processing speed (only 600 MHZ) to have 2.3 on it. I would think those phones need a larger memory capacity and a 1 GHZ processor or better in order for 2.3.
