So I just found out that the replacement for the LG Ally, named the LG Enlighten and dubbed the VS700, is going to be released sometime next month.

Here is what I know about it:

*800 MHZ Processor
*Runs ANDROID 2.3 Gingerbread
*Full Slide-Out QWERTY Keyboard
*1X and 3G Digital CDMA Bands w/ 3G Mobile Hotspot
*Full Touch Screen (Unsure about dimensions and type)
*3.2 Megapixel Rear-Facing Camera with Flash & Zoom, Camcorder
*LG Optimus-Like Styling (Revealed in pictures I've seen of the phone)
*Bluish Color (Revealed in pictures)
*Full HTML Web Browser w/ Personal and Corporate E-Mail Options
*Touch-Sensitive Front Buttons Below Display
*1500 mAh Li-Ion Battery

Plan Options: NEW $20.00/Month Non-Unlimited Smartphone Plan OR $29.99/Month Unlimited Smartphone Plan

So, pretty much unchanged specs aside from some specs, where I've indicated how those features have changed.

Here's what the phone looks like, in case you're wondering, and, apparantly, it will be available at Wal*Mart for $0.97 on contract when it is released.

It will, like the LG Ally, be available with slightly different styling on US Cellular (previously the LG Apex US740, will be called the US700), on Alltel (previously the LG Apex AS740, will be called the AS700), after it is released on Verizon Wireless.

I also think that a Canadian version, like the LG Shine Plus, will be available for Telus eventually.
