I clear cache multiple times a day. I cleared the cache on everything before I made that list. But, just in case, I just went back and looked at the 2 highlighted apps, and nope there was no cache to clean up.

My Facebook app has chat on it now because of the last update, that's what I thought blew it up so big. I have installed all updates on both the market & Facebook.

I went into my running services. Here's what was running:

    Android Keyboard

    G Talk Services

    Skype Mobile

    Sync Services

Those 4 things constantly run, I know this because I go into the running services a few times a day & stop Skype Mobile from running because I never use it. Sometimes after opening my Papaya game, the notifier will run for it but I always go in & stop it right away & it does not come back again till I re open the game.

Nicolett80...you need to uninstall facebook then add it back.

You should also clear that market cache.

So your wife is using her laptop to connect through the Ally? Could I use my Ally to tether my Wii? Could you tell me what you used?

It turns on, and you can hook up to the computer, but VZ won't feed you any internet to the hotspot. Either the wife only noticed it on her wireless networks and didn't connect, or you're already paying the additional $20/mo.

I don't know how much I'm paying, I tell you. My wife takes care of all that sort of thing.

Ok, I went to the Market & uninstalled all updates for Facebook & now it is at 4.45 MB. Wow, what a difference! Thanks for that tip. My Market also went down to 3.38. so maybe it is the Facebook app that was killing my space? Maybe killing my battery too? Would it be a good idea then to uninstall all apps & updates for apps?

You can reinstall the update for facebook. It will still be smaller than what you had. I'm still unclear if you can just 'clear data' to reclaim the space. Maybe someone can chime in.

Are you on Froyo? Did you factory reset after installation?

Well looked high and low and tried pretty everything - nothing works to root 2.2.1 on the Ally.

If anybody has any success doing it. Chime in. Might start a new thread.
