I have watched plenty of movies on mine. Just make sure the video is using video codec divx or xvid in avi container or h264 in mp4 container. I keep the audio stream as mp3 because i'm not sure if Ally supports ac3 or aac. Also remember the screen is 800x480 resolution so try not to make the video resolution higher than that. If you video resolution is smaller than that then dont increase it or you will get bad quality results. For example if a you have 720x480 video, leave it at 720x480. But if you have a 1280x1024 video then I would re-encode it down to 800x480, try to keep the bitrate high enough to not loose quality.

Thanks marioval, very helpful. I'm not sure... ... but I don't think AC3 or AAC is supported.

If anyone knows for sure, help me out here.

Thanks Q. So we see that they are not supported, with the exception of unprotected AAC.

Quick note folks,...AAC stands for Advanced Audio Code. It's a compression format used in MPEG 2 and MPEG 4. The successor to the earlier MP3 format.

    AC3 means Audio Code 3, a multi-channel format.

OK I am new to my phone as well and I was hoping you could dumb down your instructions so I can understand what to do.

    How do I start.

I want to take my dvd movie (star wars - a new hope) and put it on my phone?

How do I do that? (I will need step by step instructions).

    Thank so much!
