its setting on my preferences are to stay lit 30 minutes



im starting to hate my new ally

There is a sensor on the phone that turns the screen off while you are in the middle of a call. This is so you are not pressing buttons with your cheek while you talk. The sensor is at the top right corner of the screen. You need to keep your hands clear of this when you are on a call that requires you to enter a PIN or password. If you block this sensor, the phone thinks you are holding it up to your ear, and it will turn the screen off. No reason to hate your Ally, just don't block the sensor.
