This is a discussion on "ZVC" update (before we get froyo 2.2) within the LG Ally forums, part of the LG Android Phones category; Originally Posted by jazz I am not sure how many that use this forum read the LG forums: http://www.lgforum.c...arriers/verizon because if you haven't heard it ...
Skype no longer works. I have uninstalled and reinstalled repeatedly and if just doesn't work any more which is a turd. Other than that I haven't noticed any problems.
Next chapter in 2.1 update "flaking" some of the apps.
LG said get a replacement phone (Ally). Done. Local Verizon store was very nice. I did all the getting everything back on.
No change in problem. A number of apps still won't work after turning phone off/on or battery out/in.
They said all I can do is get another phone. When I said all evidence (even from others) is that this won't help the problem, she said that all I can do. I remarked, if I have to do this every few days (with a new phone) until my anniversary in Feb. 2012, I will not be a happy camper.
The Cust. Rep. then found "something" on her computer - something aboutinternal forums (not avail. to the public) - that said LG KNOWS about this and is planning to put out another update. No projected time frame, though.
I just hope they hurry, or just go ahead and get 2.2 out.
Thisis the third LG phone (third MODEL) I have had major problems with ...two of them still unresolved. Makes me reconsider their future for this user.
Oh yes LG has been aware of this issue from day 1. There is a thread about it on their forum where myself and a few others gave them our thoughts on the subject. There is an uptate in the works but as usual there is no ETA on when.

Hmmm, well a phone call to LG directly yielded a reply ... that they knew about NO issues regarding this. He even consulted with an "Android specialist" there on the spot (while I was on hold) who affirmed this. I couldn't find anything on this (app problem) on the LG forums (which are pretty small). But alas, I still believe you. Customer reps don't always know every issue. They just really need to fix this pronto. Having my phone spontaneously reboot AND then (me) having to reinstall a bunch of applications really hobbles this phone.
Try this thread: http://www.lgforum.com/forum/boards/...ions-or-issues
The issue with apps not working after a reboot only occurs with apps that are "Protected".
