im having such a hard time doing this and dont know why. i have a small sound file that i would like to use for my text message alert, but cant seem to figure out how to set it as the notification ringtone. any help would be much appriciated. and this is the sound

yes, thank you. why didnt i think of that before??? wait.....i think i did. i looked around everywhere. even google failed me. it wouldnt be so much of a pain if the usb mass storage on the phone worked, cause i have no idea how to get that to work (and yes, i searched for that before this too). so as a last ditch effort i posted my question. thanks for your wisdom

This can be done from the phone itself if you have a file manager. I use Linda File Manager available in the market for free. On my phone, notifications are located in the subfolder AUDIO in the folder MEDIA. If you download the file to your phone, go into linda file manager, long press on the file, choose cut, then navigate to the audio folder and choose paste. Voila...it's available.
PS... I'm not a manual writer so hopefully that made sense.

You have to change the search drop down box to Forums. Enter Ringtones or Notifications and the results come back.
