Looks to me like this is not really much of an upgrade over the Ally. Maybe more of a marrying of the Ally and Vortex. If LG wants to keep me as a customer, they are going to have to do better.

There are a few plus sides to it, Gingerbread, Flash, a slightly larger processor, but I agree that it isn't enough to make me want one. It isn't 4G and it doesn't have Gorilla Glass.

I bit the bullet and moved away from my Ally. Verizon gave me an early upgrade and good thing too as my wifes Ally has a cracked screen. So I went and looked and got the Bionic. Honestly its amazing. Saw the Enlighten but its a overclocked Ally with no camera flash.



I will still be around as I gave my wife my old Ally, she didn't get a early upgrade.



So yea. Enlighten not worth it. Bionic very much is.

Verizon now has the Samsung Stratosphere which is the first 4G phone with a physical QWERTY keyboard. However it is already getting bad reviews because the specs are not as good as some of the other 4G phones. I think it is going to be the Ally of the 4G world.



I still have 4 months to go before I can upgrade.

How far into your contract were you to get the early upgrade? There is no way I want to have this phone until August 2012.

I was supposed to get an upgrade in 6/13/12 when I got an email about it saying I was eligable for an upgrade.





So I still have 8 months left and now I can get a new one on 6/13/2013 so a year and 8 months. That is unless I upgrade my phone on 6/13/2012 on my wifes upgrade and give her mine. But then again I would prbably get her a newer 4G with the keyboard as thats what she likes.







As for the Samsung Stratosphere, its not bad but its their older gen single core CPU. Has a nice GPU but the CPU is weak and it only has 512MB RAM and a 5Mp camera. I was considering that, the Charge, the Droid 3 and the Bionic. Went Bionic because I wanted to have a high end phone for once.







And I still thinkt he Enlighten is a real pos. Its just the Ally with Gingerbread and a 800MHz CPU, in fact I think its the same CPU as the Ally just clocked higher. LG had a EnV Touch 2 in the works that would have had two touch screens, a Snapdragon CPU and 512MB of RAM, which would have been the Ally 2ish but they cut it. Too bad honestly.
