LG MyTouch Q won't vibrate when receiving texts

I have checked the settings in the actual settings icon as well as the menu in the messaging application. They all say for the phone to always vibrate. But in the setting menu in the messaging application it says "always" but it is gray and not blue like the other options when they r active and when I receive a text message the phone does not vibrate it only plays the sound. Has anyone else experienced this or have a solution for me to at least attempt? I have googled it and can't find anything on it. Its just really annoying because when I get a call it vibrates or vibrates and rings if I don't have it in silent mode. But I can't always have it on alert and when its in silent mode idk that I'm receiving a text. Please help me!!!! Lol
