Optimus 3D/Thrill to VGA LCD?

I posted this on another forum too, but thought I would create a new thread as well. I am looking for ways to optimize my use of my new LGP920 (Optimus 3D). As a teacher, I wonder if it would be possible to hook the phone up to an LCD projector in some way. The reachable input on the projector is only vga, so that is my challenge. I know that there are adapters and converters for usb to vga and hdmi to vga---any thoughts?

If the phone has HDMI out then you should be able to use an adapter to get it working.

Otherwise you'll need to open the case and have a REALLY good hand with a soldering iron and be intimately familiar with microelectronics like you'll find on the motherboard.

I shall go to the local Fry's and get an adapter--looking forward to seeing if this works. I might just be able to reduce my travelling lode by one laptop, used only to show powerpoints (which would be so great!). I'll post the results

I don't have to convert from HDMI to VGA like you are going to have to, but I do use an HDMI cable and the picture is really good on my LCD.
