Well, I grew some marbles and decided I was gonna do the z4 thing until I can borrow a pc and root right (to fully appreciate the acquired knowledge). But I don't know what everybody is talking about as it's not in the market. Did they remove it or something?

Okay...I googled z4root and there are links to download it. But I get sent to forums or pages full of ads and access denials and...If the easy way, z4, is this hard, how can the long way even be comprehendable? Man this is pi**ing me off.

Ive never used the z4 root method as we have to root the "long way" through Odin on the Galaxy S, but I'm pretty sure z4 is on the XDA site. Have you checked there? (Sorry I can't be more help!) Hopefully SlagIt or FBM will be able to offer some assistance. Haven't seen FBM on for a couple days, he's usually pretty quick to respond.

.xda just confuses me more. Every site explains rooting differently with different terminology. And I want to know: if I did find a step-by-step that made sense to me, how would I be able to follow (see) the instructions and do the rooting at the same time? Is it because the pc has the ability (windows) to display the rooting instructions and do whatever it does to root the phone at the same time? And yeah I wonder where fbm is. Thank-you.

It helps to have the instructions up on your pc, but I also print them out for future reference. You need the pc though to download the files you'll need.

I gotcha. I think I'll have use of a laptop over the weekend. So far AC has the clearest (to me) post dedicated to rooting the OptimusT.Thanx CR6.
