Help Importing Contacts from SD Card

So i recently had to reboot my phone, and i backed up all my apps and contacts by saving to the sd card. Unfortunately, after trying to import my contacts numerous times they still do not show up in my contacts app but when i go to make a new message and search for a recipient, all my contacts show up as my options, they are just not located in my contacts folder. Its very annoying that all my contacts are saved onto the sd card, which i have double checked and they are on there still, but i cannot access them. What am i doing wrong? they are saved correctly, they just dont want to show up in my contact folder after importing.

Also another problem i am having is my phone will not usb connect anymore, it does not recognize its connected to the computer but still charger while plugged in. how can i fix this? it worked fine before i rebooted the phone.

I'm afraid I can't help you with your questions (I'm not a technician), but we have a wonderful group of guys known as the Rescue Squad, and they WILL be able to answer your questions. By rebooting, you mean factory reset?

How are you importing/exporting The contacts? If your method doesn't work, you can try an alternative app in Google Play.

For the second issue, make sure your USB settings are set and that your PC has all the necessary drivers.

Ditto on what Tears_for_Fears said. Did you factory reset your phone? and what file manager are you using because if your contacts are saved to you SD card and your file manager is still loaded then your contacts should show up but to my knowledge, any that were saved in the android contacts app will not.
