HTC Wildfire S now available at MEtroPCS for $179

Metro PCS is the latest U.S. carrier to launch the HTC Wildfire S, making it the first HTC device to launch on the bargain network. The phone comes with a 600 MHz Qualcomm processor, a 3.2” HVGA display, 5 megapixel camera, 512MB RAM and 512MB internal memory, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), and HTC Sense. The HTC Wildfire S isn’t among the best Android devices from HTC, but it is a solid performer when compared to other low-end Android devices from other OEMs.

If you happen to be a Metro PCS customer already and are looking for a great deal, the HTC Wildfire S can be yours for only $179, a good $70 less than what T-Mobile’s contract free pricing for the same exact phone. We know you guys aren’t big fans of low-end Android devices, but don’t you think a phone like the HTC Wildfire S would make a good stocking stuffer for a family member still rocking that silly flip phone that’s nearly a half decade old?
