Who out there is actively trying to root and/or has a background in unix?

I am trying to get a bearing of how many people are actively trying to Root the Moto Backflip. I know it wont help the effort at all but it might help to boost morale of the members who are starting to think it wont ever come.

so if you have experience Chime in and tell us what you are up to!

So basically, you get all hurt because you expected to just come into our forum and someone would give you the magic solution to root your phone, and we're a bunch of noobs because that didn't happen?

Wow, you're such a people person, I'll get right on that for you...

Actually, the purpose of this board is to help people with their questions about the phone or to offer hints, tips that we come across. Yes, there are some people here working to find a method to root the phone, but the majority here are not. If that's not what you're looking for, I believe the door is over there. If you do decide to stay, try not to insult the entire board population next time.

I am completely aware that no one has the solution. I have been checking these boards for months now looking at the progress being made. I know that rooting isn't an easy or fast process. And you are right, the purpose of this board is to help people to use their phone to the fullest of its potential but, the "development & hacking" section usually should be reserved to, well, "development & hacking". Instead of the same people posting the same links to the same post about one guy who had dev access to keys that was able to root his phone. The reason I made the first post was for the benefit of everyone that keeps asking "is it coming" and "i dont think we will ever get to root". That way they can see that people are hard at work to make their phones a little better. I do deeply apologize if i offended anyone.

Mod's please delete this thread if you believe that it should be deleted.

Edited because I didn't realize the original post was different...

    My apologies to jmgib.

Actually mimaketi went back and edited his initial post to what it is now. I actually don't have any problem with what it says now.

I'm not here trying to stir up trouble with anyone who is dissatisfied with their phone. I generally only say something about it if like you they post about it on every single thread here, or if as the OP (as initially written) insults everyone here on the boards.

It's fine. I actually expected this to happen when he edited his post. No hard feelings.

I am actively trying to find exploits on the Backflip.
