Exclamation Upgrade to 13.35 caused more problems than fixed

I applied the 13.35 update hoping to have some of the bugs I've noticed over the past few weeks resolved. It looks like this caused more issues than it fixed:

    a) random reboots (undetermined cause)
    b) random reboots (due to keyboard issue already documented)
    c) text messages from before the upgrade are not viewable (though I can see a preview of them in the text message index)
    d) several menus 'crash'? I can't change social settings or add an alarm properly.

At least a few others I forget.

These bugs seem to get in the way more than the older ones.

    I'm considering reverting.

    a) Where is an SBF file to go back to the factory-shipped firmware? Is there a version that won't wipe out user data?
    b) I heard anecdotal evidence someplace (but can't find it now) that there may be a limit to the number of times you can use recover mode to reflash. Is this true? How many times?

    Thanks in advance!
    Matt

I would actually try to do a factory reset and then reinstall your apps. I ran 13.35 and now 13.37 and haven't had any of the crashing/rebooting issues you are experiencing. As to it rebooting when using the keyboard, if it is the battery slot problem, no software patch can fix a hardware error (the battery losing contact with the leads causing the phone to power off).

    As to your questions:
    A) I do not believe so. You would need to modify the firmware yourself to not replace your data. You can look around this thread or possibly the firmware superthread on M3 for steps on how to do that if you want.

    B) False, there isn't any known limit on attempts to flash your firmware.

Dumb question, but did you extract the SBF from the RAR file? Winrar or 7-zip are good for that.

Also what is your OS like jmgib mentioned? You could try running RSD in compatibility mode. ( I use Win 7 ultimate x64 and it works great)

I have been using Windows 7, thank you!

Sounds like a possible issue on your end. The updates have worked fine for me. I havent noticed any particular positives or negatives from the update.

13.37 is the second test release. It hasn't been captured. I got the update when it was in limited release.
